 Caving
and Pot-holing |
 |
|
|
Caving consists of
discovering and exploring underground caves, tunnels and pot-holes. Over the
millennia, an amazingly rich network of such formations has been carved out
of the limestone of the southern Lozère.
The underground landscape is as
diverse as it is surprising-rivers and water falls, stalactites and
stalagmites and other even more bizarre limestone formations, all
spectacular.
Exploration of these caves requires
special equipment and training.
We will guide you through this
extraordinary landscape. |

CAVING
BAPTISM |
|
|
|
This
trip is designed for adults and children of over 8. It represents an
ideal chance to discover the underground world. The caves are found
in the valleys within 20 kilometers of Florac. All cavers must wear
special headgear, wet suits and boots. We penetrate the cave, mostly
walking with a bit of easy rock-climbing and some crawling through
confined passages. The guide is there, not only to help you find
your way but also to explain your extraordinary surroundings. |

|
| CAVING
SPORT |
|
|
This trip
takes place under the plateau above Florac. The preparation is
similar to that for the Caving Baptism but the caves explored
will require more sophisticated equipment (ropes, harnesses,
abseiling gear, etc...).
This trip is for you to discover an entirely different aspect of
caving. |
